As their second quartet project, It’s Still Good News is the strongest offering to date from The Guardians. With deep roots in traditional Southern Gospel, The Guardians are not afraid to diversify their sound and repertoire. The sweeping ballads with big orchestrations and up-tempo Southern Gospel songs for which they are known are included in this recording. Making this unique are the inclusion of “From Now On” from the recent movie/musical The Greatest Showman and the modern treatment of a Gospel music classic, “Where We Ever Shall Be,” which is recorded complete with heavy electric guitar and strong lower brass lines. With consistent themes of God’s love, salvation and grace, The Guardians remind us that no matter the time or the sound, It’s Still Good News.
